Slow-Simmered Bourbon Honey Sausage Bites

Sweet, smoky, and a little boozy — these bites practically melt in your mouth. Make them on the stovetop or move the works to a slow cooker on low to keep things hot through a long party.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Bourbon & Honey Smoked Sausage sliced into 1/2-inch coins
  • cup bourbon
  • cup honey
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • Toothpicks for serving

Instructions

  • Build the glaze. In a skillet over medium heat, stir together the bourbon, honey, soy sauce, Worcestershire, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
  • Add the sausage. Drop in the sausage coins and toss to coat.
  • Simmer. Cook 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce reduces to a thick glaze that clings to each piece.
  • Serve warm. Transfer to a serving dish and stick a toothpick in each. Set out over a low-heat warmer or transfer to a slow cooker on low to hold temp during the party.
